Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information AeroNova collects, how it is used, and how it is protected. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and transparently.

AeroNova is developed and operated by Sarthak (@darlingismyfavword). By using the bot, you acknowledge and consent to the data practices described in this policy.

What Data We Collect

AeroNova collects the minimum data necessary to operate its features. The following table outlines exactly what is stored:

How We Use Your Data

All collected data is used exclusively to power AeroNova's features. Specifically:

• Guild IDs are used to store per-server settings like custom prefix, DJ role, and Premium status
• User IDs are used to associate playlists with their owner, and to identify bot developers/owners for elevated permissions
• Playlist data is stored so Premium users can save, load, and manage their music playlists
• Premium records are used to check whether a server has an active subscription and to gate Premium-only features accordingly
• Log events (guild join/leave) are sent to a private Discord channel for the developer's analytics and monitoring

Your data is never used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating AeroNova.

Data Storage & Security

All bot data is stored in a SQLite database (AeroNova.db) on the server where AeroNova is hosted. The following measures are in place:

• The database is not publicly accessible and is only readable by the bot process
• Environment variables (tokens, keys) are stored in a .env file and never exposed publicly
• The hosting environment is maintained and monitored by the developer
• Bot token and API keys are rotated if any breach is suspected

While we take reasonable precautions, no system is 100% immune to security incidents. In the event of a data breach affecting user data, affected users will be notified via the support server.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your data with any third parties for commercial purposes.

Data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

• Discord API: The bot communicates with Discord's API to function. Discord's own Privacy Policy governs their data practices.
• Lavalink Audio Nodes: Song search queries and stream URLs are passed to Lavalink nodes for audio processing. No user identity is transmitted.
• Source Platforms: When you request music from YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, etc., requests are made to those platforms' APIs. Their privacy policies apply.
• Legal Obligation: We may disclose data if required by applicable law or government authority.

Data Retention

Data is retained only as long as it is needed to provide the service:

• Server config data is retained as long as AeroNova is in your server. It is deleted when the bot is removed or when a deletion request is made.
• Playlist data is retained until the user deletes the playlist using +playlist delete, or requests full deletion from the developer.
• Premium records are retained for billing history purposes for up to 90 days after expiry, then purged.
• Log events (guild join/leave) are stored in the log channel and subject to Discord's own message retention policies.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data. As a user of AeroNova, you can:

• Request access to the data AeroNova holds about your User ID or Guild ID
• Request deletion of your data by contacting the developer in the support server
• Delete your own playlists at any time using +playlist delete <name>
• Remove the bot from your server at any time, which will stop all new data collection for that server

To exercise any of these rights, please reach out via the support Discord server. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable time.

Third-Party Services

AeroNova integrates with several third-party platforms to deliver its music service. Each operates under their own privacy policies:

AeroNova is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their policies independently.

Children's Privacy

AeroNova is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. Discord itself requires users to be at least 13 years old.

If you believe a child under 13 has used AeroNova and data has been collected, please contact us immediately and we will delete that data upon verification.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised. Significant changes will be announced in the support server.

Continued use of AeroNova after any update to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
